Football attendance figures reach new record

The Olympic Football Tournaments Beijing 2008 have attained a new all-time attendance record after the semi-final stage of the competition, with 1,9 million spectators.

With four matches yet to be played, the attendance figures will surely surpass the 2 million barrier by the end of the competition, making football the sport with more viewers on site of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

Men’s total: 1,26 million / average per match 41,900
Women’s total: 0,64 million / average per match 26,600
