Liverpool vs Arsenal 1-1 on the Premier League opening weekend at Anfield!
Joe Cole’s English Premier League debut for Liverpool was horrible. He was shown a straight red card in the first half. After he launched himself unnecessarily in a very bad tackle at Koscielny close to the corner flag, Cole was sent off.
Koscielny made a quick recovery and returned for the second half. He was also sent off for two yellow cards, both picked up in second half.
David NGOG gived Liverpool the lead in the 46th minute. He collects the ball on the right side of the box, gets half a yard on Vermaelen and smashed the ball into the top-right corner! Almunia embarrassed yet again. Wenger need a good goalkeeper.
But in the last minute of the match, Pepe Reina misjudges a Rosicky cross and the ball is bundled against the post. As it comes back, Reina looks to catch it but fumbles the ball into his own net. Incredible error! Amazing own goal by Pepe Reina! Arsenal received an incredible gift and goes home with a point.
