FA Cup has been every year a competition with a lot of surprises. Liverpool was also humiliated this season by a team ranked 19th in the third league England, Oldham Athletic.
Liverpool’s nightmare began in the 3rd minute when Skrtel set the tone for disaster introducing the ball into his own goal. Suarez managed to equalize, but Oldham took the lead again at the end of the first half, after a blunder of goalkeeper Brad Jones.
Oldham scored for 3-1 after Wabara’s header and Allen set the final score in the 80th minute.
Gerrard hit the bar when was few minutes to play, but it was too late, so Oldham Athletic managed a big surprise and qualified in FA Cup sixteen.
Following this result, Liverpool missed another target this season. Their position in the standings is not a very good one at the moment. They are ranked 7th in the Premier League, with 34 points after 23 fixtures. Wednesday will travel to Arsenal, where they will have the chance to equal the Gunners, who now have 37 points and are ranked 6th.
Oldahm played well in this game. His surprise to his team is awesome. And being qualified for best 16 is tremendous. A bad luck for Liverpool team in this field but will play their best again in nest year FA Cup.
