The relationship between AC Milan and Manchester City has proven to be very successful lately. The Rossoneri transferred important players from the English grouping in recent years, including Robinho, Nigel de Jong and Balotelli.
Last attempt of Milan to bring another player from City has been linked to Carlos Tevez. But ultimately the Argentine striker aged 29 years old signed with the champion of Serie A, Juventus.
Milan’s star, Mario Balotelli, tried to persuade Tevez to join the group from the San Siro this summer, but without result. Now waiting for the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, with whom would make a very strong ‘duo’ in Milan’s attack.
“We are strong, but to compete at a European level we need reinforcements. I would like us to sign Ibrahimovic.” said Balotelli for Sportmediaset.
“I’m not afraid of Juve: I respect all clubs but fear none. Tevez is a friend – I told him to come to Milan, however, he did not listen and went to Juve.”
About his colleague from Italy’s national team, Stephan El Shaarawy, Balotelli is happy that he will remain at the club and will not leave this summer. Just as he has no plans to leave the team from Milan.
“I sent a message to Stephan to ask him how he had gone the meeting with Adriano Galliani. He told me that he would stay and I told him that he did well. I’m happy. As I’m concerned, it’s nice to [see him] be declared non-transferable, but in football you never know.”
“Milan are the team that I have in my heart, it is a good club with many fans. I’m fine here and I’ll be staying at the club.”
Balotelli was transferred from City in the winter for about € 20 million. The understanding with the group from San Siro is valid until June 2017. Before returning to Italy, Super Mario played at rival Inter Milan between 2007 and 2010.
