German coach Jupp Heynckes, who trained Bayern Munich until June 2013, was named the best coach of a club team in the year ended few days ago. The appointment was made by a jury composed of journalists and experts from 70 countries, reports the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS).
Heynckes, who in 2013 won the Champions League trophy, the title in Bundesliga and the German Cup (DFB Pokal), obtained 216 points.
He is followed in the ranking of Jurgen Klopp (Borussia Dortmund), with 101 points. In third place is Diego Simeone (Atletico Madrid), with 61 points.
The list is completed by the following coaches: 4. Alex Ferguson (Manchester United) – 33 points 5. Josep Guardiola (Bayern Munich) – 30 points, 6. Arsene Wenger (Arsenal) – 29 points 7. Jose Mourinho (Real Madrid / Chelsea) – 10 points, 8. Antonio Conte (Juventus Turin) – 3 points, Jorge Jesus (Sport Lisbon) – 3 points.
There were rumors at one point that Juup Heynckes would like to return again in business after he retired from football at the end of last season. But every time the German coach said he ended his career, and will not lead any team in the years to come.
